The Lake. The lake is beautiful and surrounded by dense forest. There are three docks (Wharfs) for swimming in the lake, but beach area is limited. Hike in the Surrounding Forest. The Cat Lake Recreation Site and Campground has 48 TENT ONLY WALK-IN campsites and 4 day use areas with swimming docks around a beautiful spring fed lake. The site is adjacent to a large dirt bike trail network, numerous mountain bike trails and walking trails. Located 10 minutes north of Squamish, BC, and 1.5 hours from downtown Vancouver, BC.

Play on the small beach, jump off the dock and cast your lines for Rainbow Trout. The area is also a popular starting spot for mountain bikers looking to ride Cheshire Cat and Section 57 as well as dirt bikers in the summer.

The Cat Lake recreation sites and lake have now reopened after being closed for over two weeks because of the presence of a bear in the area. No reservations are need as this is a first come, first served site. There are walk-in campsites all around the lake. However, BC Parks cautions that this site has had numerous bear problems each year.
